The Best White T-Shirt for Men

It’s the foundation of every man’s wardrobe
Don’t take them for granted. White T-shirts are the overlooked underpinning of every man’s wardrobe. If you don’t have at least 10 or more good ones to draw from, you are leaving yourself without the proper first layer on which to build a look.
We hate to break it to you, but the best white T-shirts aren’t sold in packs of three. Those may seem economical, but cheaper tees won’t hold their shape and may not be as soft as those made with better grades of cotton or ones woven to stretch naturally without synthetic fabrics.
3 Rules for the Perfect Undershirt:
The best high-grade tees are made from cotton, but have a worn-in, refined feel that breathes with you. Thicker, denser cotton T-shirts will likely feel stuffy if you layer them under a dress shirt, while thinner fabrics with natural elasticity will help you feel comfortable all day long. Your white T-shirt should fit your frame without hugging it too tightly or leaving too much extra fabric. If it’s boxy, you’ll look bulky. The length should hit your hip and not farther. Anything longer is called a shirt dress. Though shorter is no good, either. A quick way to tell that your t-shirt is too short is to lift your arms above your head. If your bellybutton is peeking out, your t-shirt is too small for your torso.
When you find the T-shirt that feels comfortable and fits you perfectly, buy a few and replace them often. Since the pits will grow dingy from antiperspirant residue, you’ll want to avoid pit rot and restock your collection every six months to a year, depending on how often you wear them.
Luckily, Alternative, our favorite white T-shirts are easy to find online and won’t break the bank. These soft-as-a-kitten shirts are made from ringspun cotton, a smoother and longer type of yarn. The result is a more refined fiber that feels softer than regular cotton. The fit is flattering to most body shapes and the slight v-shape at the top means your neck can breathe freely. We suggest you buy them in bulk.
